Friday, September 29th, 2017

The Kestrels have been scientists this week!  As part of the topic about fire the children investigated ” What happens to an egg if it is heated?” They did 3 experiements and fried, boiled and scrambled eggs.  They were great at asking qustions, predicting and recording and discovered that an egg can not turn back into an egg, which is (here’s the science bit) – an irreversible change!

The Great Fire of London

Friday, September 22nd, 2017

It’s been a busy week!  We have been historians and have learnt lots of facts about the Great Fire of London.  Today we were reporters and eye-witnesses and took turns to interview each other!

The children’s Share and Learn (home learning) has a variety of activities for the children to do at home.  Lore brought in his Fire of London picture that he made at home to share with the class – happy home learning everybody!

We started our Fire topic making fires in the learning garden and a visit from the fire engine!  We wrote amazing poems using nouns and adjectives and had to learn them.  We performed them in front of the class.  Ms McKenzie was very proud!
