Home School Week 2

Monday, March 30th, 2020

The Kestrels are continuing to be very busy with their learning at home. Some children have created their own timetable to help them organise their day. It is great to see so many of them take part in exercise every morning. Did you know Joe Wicks retweeted Haitham’s exercise routine? Forest School is being created at home but not always as successfully as school due to a shortage of marshmallows. What a disaster! Some Kestrels are also learning new skills such as sudoku or how to be a shepherd. Don’t forget to send Mr Wilkinson pictures of the learning you have been doing.

Home School Week 1

Thursday, March 26th, 2020

In school this week, we have started each day keeping fit with Joe Wicks. It was good to see that you are joining in at home too. After a morning of reading, maths and writing, we have been making the most of the lovely weather by doing some jobs in the garden. I know that some of you have been doing some gardening too. It has been good to see you are keeping very busy at home. Please send in your pictures if you would like to be on the blog next week.

World Book Day 2020

Wednesday, March 4th, 2020

Everyone enjoyed celebrating World Book Day on the theme of Julia Donaldson stories. The pupils worked in their houses to build in Forest School, sing, learn about kindness, develop their art skills, explore animals and listen to stories while drinking hot chocolate!

Each house completed a set of activities based on the some of Julia Donaldson’s stories including Share a Shell, Stick Man, The Ugly Five and The Smartest Giant in Town.

Jonathan’s Jungle brought in some of their animals inspired by stories and everyone learnt such a lot about the interesting animals. Everyone showed great respect for the animals by behaving so sensibly and quietly and therefore they had the opportunity to hold some. It was a real challenge for some of us!

Everyone had a super day and were inspired to read and explore lots of different books by the same author.
